During 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed customers and hence, the name was established.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, as the need for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing articulated booms, light towers, man-lifts, stick booms and telehandlers.
Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values because of the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers all around the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is devoted to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to minimizing waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machinery.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment has to be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the benefits of a 48V DC equipment.
Telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the various aerial platforms. These equipment are great for limited access areas or small areas in all kinds of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These equipment provide the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
