Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run from gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various applications. There are various facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
In order to prevent potentially serious injury, specific safety measures should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For example: be sure to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Make certain that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Bear in mind that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
