In the material handling business, the lift truck has become a key piece of equipment. This equipment is also known as a forklift or a powered industrial truck and can transport heavy cargo and materials. These trucks changed the manufacturing and the warehousing industries. Now they are utilized for a wide array of applications and are considered to be vital for material handling.

A lift truck is a piece of equipment which is driven by an operator who uses the truck to move cargo around a warehouse or worksite. Companies that own their own forklifts must maintain the machines to make certain they have a long lifespan. Like any machinery parts, lift truck components, are susceptible to wear and tear and would eventually become worn. In order to ensure the lift truck functions in an efficient and safe manner, you should occasionally replace worn or damaged components. Each forklift truck component is made for a particular purpose. Below is a list of some lift truck attachments and their tasks:

Forklift Fork Positioner: The forklift fork positioner is a hydraulic attachment which helps to position the forks. It can move the forks either simultaneously or separately. Without the forklift fork positioner, the operator of the forklift should adjust forklift forks manually for different sizes of cargo.

Side Shifter: The hydraulic side shift attachment allows the operator to laterally shift both the backrest and the forklift forks. This attachment makes it easier to place the cargo without having to change the truck's position.

Pole Attachments: These long metal poles are intended to carry carpet rolls. The poles work better for this purpose than forklift forks.

Telescopic Forklift Forks: Telescopic forklift forks are hydraulic attachments which allow the operator to load and unload from a single side by handling two pallets of various sizes at the same time. This attachment is great for handling pallets in 'double deep racking'.
