Reach Truck
A reach truck is used to pile up pallets of goods, supplies, and to keep storage places orderly. The reach truck comes in quite a few types: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.

The stand-up is the simplest. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the right storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are only one pallet deep.

Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is like the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This particular version has telescopic forks designed to place the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when one more pallet must go into the same shelving section.

Straddle reaches have the added advantage of being able to not only slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This particular version is best in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.

Within nearly all warehouses, there are usually more than one kind of reach truck. Textile companies and manufacturing facilities utilize various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to operate and can maximize available storage space while increasing production.
