Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an essential device within industry and commercial businesses ever since 1917. During its history the forklift has evolved through different forms, from a basic tractor with a platform attachment to a particular high-tech machine. Forklift tires have also evolved into specialized tires, with various kinds designed to suit specific functions.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is made of rubber or solid polyurethane and is best for indoor work on smooth surfaces. The tread of a cushion tire is pressed or binded onto the steel ring of the tire. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for various load capacities. Cushion tires are commonly utilized within warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with foam or air. They are available in two types: bias or radial. Depending on the use, they are offered with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are normally used outdoors on rough, uneven surfaces.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the puncture resistance of a solid tire with the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire. They are an alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Utilized on wheel loader forklifts are big rubber tires that could either be solid, pneumatic or foam. These tires are best for transporting and loading heavy things onto trucks or into processing equipment. Big flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts normally used at automobile recyclers, lumberyards and construction locations.
