Forklifts have four various ways of being powered: electric, gas, propane and diesel. The battery is located inside the cab under the seat. The propane tank is located on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the back of the truck.
Cab
Situated in the middle of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The gas pedal, steering wheel, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all situated within the cab.
Frame
The frame of the truck carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, that are located at the rear to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
