Forklift Accidents
Forklift mishaps are usually due to the careless use of the forklift. This happens when the forklift operator is not properly trained in safety procedures. Anybody operating a forklift has to use caution to reduce the possibility of mishaps and to prevent potential dangers.

Forklift Accident Statistics:
OSHA, which is responsible for checking workplace safety, reports on the occurrence of forklift accidents. On average, every three days somebody is killed in a forklift mishap in the US. Around 95,000 injuries take place in forklift related mishaps each year. The vast majority of these mishaps could have been prevented if correct safety procedures had been followed. There are even websites committed to reporting stories of forklift accidents.

Both individuals and businesses suffer as a result of forklift mishaps. There are a lot of reasons why employers need to take steps to lessen the risk. Amongst the biggest reasons is to prevent risk of lawsuits if somebody is hurt. Second, accidents cut down on working time. Third, goods and property can be damaged during mishaps. The majority of accidents are attributed to employees who are not properly trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that all workers who are using the forklift are correctly trained in risks and safety. Never let anybody on a forklift who isn't trained to operate the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a visible place all forklift safety measures.

Rather than going through training because staff are required to, they should have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer should help workers know the significance of correct training. Let them know that they can injure or kill not just themselves, but other people, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to make certain that your staff undertake training seriously.
