How to Charge a Scissor Lift
Many individuals appreciate the convenience of using a scissor lift. The convenience of working and the security offered from the lift's basket provide much more piece of mind than attempting to perform a similar task working off the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this particular equipment make it the best choice for completing tasks from heights.

Most scissor lifts are operated by batteries that are internally mounted inside the base of the lift. These batteries need to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple task to charge the batteries. This could be done without any particular equipment or tools and needs no heavy labor.

So as to prepare the scissor lift for charging, position the machine near an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button located in the basket of the lift, near the control box or the charger. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Normally, models that are older will have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.

After that, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be certain you are charging in a place that is well ventilated and then plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. In order to avoid accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is purposely short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage area when in use, extreme danger could potentially take place.
